Mark Mitchell

Mitchell’s design career started early at age 16 when he licensed his first design, a birdhouse designed for a school project. He studied Industrial Design at Brunel University and graduated in 2019. During this time he was chosen as ‘1 of 10 emerging talents to watch’ as a result of work partaken in addition to his studies. His study : ‘The Application of Phase Change Materials’ in Furniture was exhibited at DesignJunction during London Design Week 2017 in partnership with luxury watch brand RADO.

Since then Mitchell has worked in a diverse range of design roles from Cambridge, London, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Jakarta and Amsterdam. Experience ranges though Lighting, Furniture, Decor, Sculpture, Space, Sound, Phygital, FF&E, Interior, Archiviz, Graphic and Brand Design. The topic of Cross Modal Perception is often explored through these works, making Mitchell's designs sensorially satisfying. Mitchell's designs are known for the moment of calm they evoke in the

viewer. He often crafts with subtle white and beige materials such as boucle, opal glass and marble. Inspired by sky and space, Mark's works perpetuate the dignity and exoticism of the natural world surrounding us. When asked why he became a designer, Mark replied; “There's a sense of magic when you’re behind the scenes and deciding how the stage, that billions of people live upon, should look. I'm always reminded of how special that responsibility is when visitors come by our studio, you can see the excitement in their eyes as they catch a preview of something we haven't published or released. I still feel that same joy and responsibility every day I come to work!”
